"Prime Day is a one-day-only global shopping event exclusively for Prime members." This, of course, has lead to 2 days in the recent years due to its popularity and success.
I have been a part of 4 out of the 5 Prime Day celebrations (excluding the first). In the beginning years, Prime Day was still trying to discover its identity as a day of celebration and how is that communicated and branded. This caused the style guides to look very different but the amount of colors has been a constant.
This year’s Prime Day, my team and I were tasked to create all of the “Day(s) Of” graphics for the main page, Amazon.com. Working with Gateway (mainpage) team, we created and reviewed graphics for over 20 campaigns.
The graphics performed incredibly well with high click through rates which lead to high purchases.
Textures & Hues is “Amazon's one-stop shop for all things natural hair”
-Essence.
Always striving to delight customers, Amazon saw a need and a market for a customer group that have been historically ignored by “mainstream” companies.
The launch was widely successful. Many customers expressed their excitement at feeling represented. “Shoutout to @amazon for this Textures & Hues campaign for hair care for POC. THIS IS INCLUSIVITY AND THIS IS AMAZING!!! -Rosia the Realest @shortierowe”
I was pulled onto the project to create graphics that were consistent with the landing page to drive traffic to the site.
Assisted the Amazon Toys Art Director in producing graphics for the seasonal event "Summer Toy List" landing page as well as traffic drivers for on-site and off such as associate ads and email graphics.
This is what I spend my time doing (when I'm not playing video-games). I am heavily inspired by video-games and fashion so the two mix a lot in my work.
During my time at Amazon I had the opportunity to utilize my illustration skills on various NDA projects, Amazon Small Business Week event, as well as Twitch graphics.
Amazon’s Small Business team required icons for their homepage for Small Business week to promote all of Amazon’s small business opportunities. The team wanted to follow Amazon branded icons so I was pulled in last minute to create a suite of new icons.
Twitch was celebrating Mr. Rogers' birthday by having a marathon of all 886 episodes. Twitch wanted graphics to promote that event but could not secure the copyright to still images to pixelate. They needed the graphics fast so I suggested that I could illustrate a pixelated image instead.
